CONGLETON manager Jim Vince says he is keeping the door open for striker Shane Reaney.
The Stone Dominoes man was the last of acting manager Dean Sibson's signings before he was relieved of his duties three weeks ago.
Reaney was due to meet Vince for the first time this week and the new boss at Booth Street said: "I am looking forward to working with Shane.
"I gather he is a good player, but we have to see if we like each other and whether Shane is the sort of player we require."
Defenders Keith Wedge, the team captain, and Ryan Dunnan quickly found out they did not fit the bill.
Both started last Saturday's game at Runcorn Town, but were replaced at half-time and are no longer with the club.
Vince introduced his first three signings in new skipper Andy Alston and Crewe Alex youngsters Michael Koral and Joe Guest, while Danny Schwartz and Geoff Basford, from Kidsgrove, have also joined the squad.
Another to be shown the door is striker Chris Luby, who looked so promising when he netted in successive games in November, but has not found the net since.
Vince said: "We are in a transitional stage and I have to work quickly in order to build a foundation so that at the start of next season we are 60 to 70 per cent down the line."
